Tools

Collecting and Curating Digital Posters has opened up discussions about collecting practice and supported the testing of new tools.

During the course of this project, we have facilitated demonstrations and hands-on training workshops for Posters Network participants, providing opportunities for them to gather new knowledge and adapt their skillsets. Development of our skills and competencies has been key to gathering the armoury we need to collect dynamic digital and web-based content. This has meant learning new skills which are appropriate to the changing remit of our curatorial responsibilities and interests.

We have been keen to test free and open-source software tools where possible and have sought solutions that are creative rather than resource intensive. Webrecorder and the Annotation Curation Tool are both practicable within different types of organisation, and adaptable to different scale institutional models.
